In 2008/09 I received my first funding grant, it was a relatively small-scale project with a secured £5k cash investment and £6k support in kind, it marks a significant shift in my practice since I utilised public funds for the first time and I procured the support independently by way of an artistic proposal to ACE .

 

This project came with a different degree of responsibility, requiring full accountability on spending, outreach figures and evaluation. My role within this project included recruitment of dancers, scheduling of rehearsal for four dancers, negotiations of rehearsal space and performance venues, drawing up and issuing of contracts, handling of budgets and project evaluations. It was at this time that I started to work with Magpie on the design, production and circulation of promotional materials.                     .
